Absolutely bad ass piece is a requirement to complete the bar and shield/flames collection. Quality part, fit and finish is as you would expect. New gasket and proper torque boys and girls as this is a functional piece. Looks cool too.

Couldn't wait to get an answer on the material type. So I just bought one. It's plastic and it's awesome. Nice set up to attach to original air cleaner, fit and finish is all Harley. Comes with a real nice rubber boot to back it up and securely mounts and stays in place. I should mention also that it looks really. . . Cool.

Back in the day you just send it out for chrome and it comes back cool. Harley has made it so easy with kits like this to sweeten up any part of the bike. This is a great addition to the inner fairing arrangement. Get it really clean and sit on the saddle as you apply these self adhering pieces to ensure alignment, because when they stick. . . they are stuck, and very. . . very cool.

Some people would call this a collection that is precision-made by computer-controlled machinery which produces rare shapes, beveled edges, subtle counterbores and distinctive ovals. We call it the Aluminator Collection.

These various caps will make your motor growl even when the ignition is off. This serious investment in happiness is well worth it when you step back and realize the immense detail this kit adds to your bike. Absolutely pro custom look on your own. A small wooden dowel or rubber tipped probe will aid in exact installation and ensure proper seating to avoid loosening and potential loss. You won't believe the difference. Very, very. . . COOL.

Great addition to the look of the left side of the bike. Easy, as are all bolt on additions. Heavy duty construction and very good chrome. Adjustments are simple too. Just match up the length of the original and remember the loc-tite. Looks very...cool

That's what you hear when your supposed to take off! But that's what you'll do when you want to stop your machine with this very heavy duty one piece chrome and rubber beauty from Harley. Toss the old one and bolt this tough looking heavy chromed jewel in place. Looks very rugged and bold and. . . cool.

Compact Battery Tender is superior to a traditional auto-parts store trickle charger. The built-in smart circuitry cycles the charger to turn itself on and off as needed, so your battery never overcharges.

battery charger

I started my bike up with the charger plugged in did I damage the charger.
I Ride: 2001 ultra
Electronics can be persnickety, but as such, engineers have allowed for events such as starting the bike with the trickle charger plugged in. The "smart circuitry" senses the condition of the battery at all times. The instant the bike starts and charges, the charger shuts off. If the little LED on lights when plugged in it probably still works. No worries.

Does the battery tender protect against reverse current flow?

If I happen to lose AC power to the outlet the battery tender is plugged into, will my battery be drained or is there reverse current flow protection built in?
Couldn't find a schematic on this particular charger, but generally speaking all modern charging equipment has built in protection for just such a concern. I use this model on my flhtcu during the winter months and have not experienced any trouble during power outages. Nor have I found any deficiencies in the battery this unit has serviced. I have had power failures during use and the battery tests out good after extended winter down time. No worries really.

If this is for the RIGHT side of the bike, why do the the flames trail off forward ? is this a reversed photo?

Either your backing up really fast or your bike is upside down. Neither being a good thing. I just put this rock solid piece on the left side of my flhtcu, where the primary is located. It fit really good there and the flames trail off toward the back, as if being blown by the wind, which they will be soon, very soon.

The gasket slot

Does this cover have the slot on the backside that accepts the orange colored "O" ring?

2011 FXDC original equipment derby cover gasket is orange in color and fits into a slot cut in the back side of this cover.
I Ride: fxdc
No slot. For your 2011 you must purchase the gasket listed in the description. New cover has a flat back. New gasket is paper/fiber with built in o-ring that faces the primary. I've done a couple and they worked fine no leaks.

Approved for use on Harley-Davidson Lexan windshields. Enhances visibility during wet-weather riding.

Why is this product "Not recommended for use on faceshields"?

Is there a product that I can use on my helmet faceshield that will allow the rain water to wisk away in the wind for better visuals in the rain?
I Ride: 2009 H-D FLHX Street Glide and a 1982 H-D FXB Sturgis
Hmmmm. Good question. Probably because it is a Harley product on the Harley website, sold at Harley dealers to be used on Harley windshields. The label is such that the Motor Company can not assume the customer will be using it on a Harley face shield. In my experience (6 Harleys) the owners manual recommends using nothing more than mild soap and water on all windshields. No wax, no treatment of any kind. Without mentioning any brand names, I clean my face shield with a washer fluid designed to repel water. . its orange and rhymes with pain flex.

Make your statement before they see you coming. The throaty Screamin' Eagle Street Performance sound sets the tone, and the bold styling drives the note home.

With the installation of these slip-on mufflers do I have to have the bike retuned?

I have a 2013 Street glide
I Ride: 2013 Streetglide
Anytime you see "slip on" in the description of a Harley factory exhaust offering, it means just that, Slip on and ride. If your bike is in the 'fitment" list and you have not altered other components related to intake, ignition or exhaust, buy new clamps and put them on. They are very cool.

A touch of chrome makes all the difference. These classic gauge bezels take just a few minutes to install, and add the beauty of chrome to your dash.

Is Mounting Plate Necessary?

I also would like to know if the Gloss Black Mounting Plate is necessary. I don't like the look of it. It looks like an "add on" instead of stock making it look cheap.
According to the motor company, yes, it is integral to the install. The chrome bezel covers are indexed to the gloss black back plate to ensure proper alignment. The plate has to be installed first and then the bezel covers are mounted to it. If your inner fairing is color matched you have the coolest look anyway. Your current covers are also chrome, the only change would be a very small 'brow" over the top of the gauges.

Out of Stock...

Any idea when this will be back in stock? Not only is it out of stock online but it also appears that none of the HD dealers in my area have them available either and I've checked several. :( Although it isn't quite riding weather yet, hopefully it won't be much longer. I'd like to have a little extra bling on the bike when it's ready to ride :)
User submitted photo
Not available in the Cleveland area either. I have inquired about several items for the newer models at the local dealers. I have been advised there will be a "spring" add on to the parts catalog. Anyway, they always seem to come through with the goods, I have had pretty good luck getting what I need new or old. Call around. . . someone has it.

Live To Ride, Ride to Live. It has become the motto of the Harley-Davidson nation, accompanying riders over millions of miles of travel.

I see there are 5 bolts that hold this on but is there fluid behind this cover or is it just remove and replace

There sure is fluid behind that cover, primary fluid. However, if you stand the bike up straight, the fluid should not leak out when you remove the cover. It is recommended that a new seal be installed also and don't forget. . . cross pattern when tightening and proper torque for good seal.
